FOR RELEASE MAY 6TH, 2010—

BUFFALO NIAGARA BUSINESS ETHICS AWARDS
PRESENTED TODAY TO THREE COMPANIES
(Buffalo, NY – May 6th, 2010) The 4th annual Buffalo Niagara Business Ethics Awards were presented today at a luncheon at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens. The BNBEA annual award event raises community awareness of ethical behavior and pays tribute to companies that consistently demonstrate ethical conduct in everything they do.

Crystal awards were presented to one recipient in each of three business categories. The 2010 award recipients are:

• Colvin Cleaners in the small business category with under 50 employees
• Building Controls & Services in the mid-sized business category with 50-150 employees
• LPCiminelli in the large business category with over 150 employees

“There is no better time than now to recognize ethical behavior. This year’s crystal award recipients have chosen the high road and consistently demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct in their businesses and professions,” said Fred Holender, Chair of the 2010 Awards Steering Committee. “In other words, these companies make a difference in our community, not just for what they do, but how they choose to do business…the right way,” added Holender.

Entries are reviewed by Canisius College MBA students, who recommend finalists in each category. A judging panel comprised of community leaders selected one finalist from each category as the crystal award winner.

The 2010 Buffalo Niagara Business Ethics Awards is presented by The Society of Financial Professionals and partners Lawley Insurance, Canisius College Richard J. Wehle School of Business, Brock, Schechter & Polakoff, LLP, Key Bank and Main Urology Associates, P.C.

Previous BNBEA crystal award recipients include Elderwood Senior Care, West Herr Automotive Group and Gibraltar Industries in the large business category; Main Urology Associates, Lehigh Construction Group and Optimal Therapy Associates Services in the mid-sized company category and Alliance Construction of WNY, Murak and Associates and Enviro-Care in the small business category.

BNBEA welcomes nominations throughout the year. Nomination forms are on the website at: www.buffalobusinessethics.org. Next year’s BNBEA Awards will be held May 5th, 2011.
