2014 BUFFALO NIAGARA BUSINESS ETHICS AWARD FINALISTS SELECTED

After receiving a record number of nominations, six Western New York companies have been selected as finalists for the 2014 Buffalo Niagara Business Ethics Award. The finalists are: EGW Associates, Inc., Ellicott Small Animal Hospital and Masiello, Martucci, Calabrese & Associates in the small business category with fewer than 50 employees; Buffalo Hotel Supply Co., Inc., Compu-Mail LLC and James Desiderio Wholesale Produce in the mid-sized business category of 50-150 employees. In the large business category of over 150 employees, due to various individual circumstances unique to this year’s large business category nominees, none of the companies was able to complete the application for the 2014 Buffalo Niagara Business Ethics Awards by the January 31st deadline. They will be invited back to participate in the 2015 Awards.

Applications were reviewed by Canisius College MBA students who recommended the finalists in each category. A judging panel comprised of community leaders will meet to select one finalist from each category as the crystal award recipient.

“There is no better time than now to recognize ethical behavior,” said Fred Holender, President of the Buffalo Niagara Business Ethics Association and Chairman of the BNBEA Awards Steering Committee. “We’re proud to salute the finalists’ commitment to the highest of ethical business standards throughout their organizations and the community.”

The 8th annual Buffalo Niagara Business Ethics Awards will be presented Thursday, May 8th at a luncheon at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens. The BNBEA annual award event raises community awareness of ethical behavior and pays tribute to companies that consistently demonstrate ethical conduct in everything they do.

The 2014 Buffalo Niagara Business Ethics Awards is presented by The Buffalo Niagara Business Ethics Association in partnership with Lawley Insurance, Brock, Schechter & Polakoff, LLP, Canisius College Wehle School of Business, Key Bank, West Herr Automotive Group and media partners WBEN Radio, WGRZ Channel 2, Business First and WBFO Radio.
