From its origin as Buffalo City Hospital to E.J. Meyer Memorial to today’s ECMCC, one guiding factor remains the mission cornerstone: to provide every patient the highest quality of care delivered with compassion.
Throughout this extraordinary time, ECMCC has been challenged and tested the resilience, adaptability, and perseverance of the frontline caregivers. It might have been easier to shy away from such challenging circumstances–but that never occurred at ECMCC. Instead, the heroic caregivers doubled down and committed themselves to protecting their patients and each other. Despite the pandemic, significant accomplishments were achieved that will contribute to the health and safety of WNY for years to come, including the opening of the new KeyBank Trauma and Emergency Department.
ECMC is proud of the role it has played throughout the city’s and region’s history. The hospital continues to build on the remarkable story that began 103 years ago!
